MTV Movie Awards 2011 are like a televised drinking game for celebrities. It doesn’t even matter who wins or looses. Packed with exclusive film clip premieres, fresh faced teen favorite stars and planned chaos galore, the MTV Movie Awards are the cool summer’s answer to winter’s parade of traditional black tie trophy affairs.
Hosted this year by Jason Sudeikis, the “Saturday Night Live” star who stars in the upcoming raunchy comedy, “Horrible Bosses,” the 2011 edition of the award show will draw the curtain on clips from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,” and the first trailer from the upcoming “Twilight” film — though that already leaked online. JJ Abrams and Stephen Spielberg will also be on hand, to present footage from their upcoming epic, “Super 8.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, star presenters will include Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Steve Carell, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, Jason Segel, Nicki Minaj, Ashton Kutcher, Cameron Diaz and Jesse Eisenberg. As for the awards, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” leads the field with eight nominations, while “Inception” has seven and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1″ is up for six.
Reese Witherspoon will win the “Generation Award,” to be presented by her “Water for Elephants” co-star Robert Pattinson. The Foo Fighters will provide the soundtrack.
