England have comfortably beaten Switzerland 3-1 in Basel in their second game of Group G.
The boys were hoping to prove that the 4-0 thrashing of Bulgaria was not a one off.
England were off from the start. It was only a few minutes into the game when Defoe headed a cross just win of the post.
The Three Lions kept the momentum going and within 5 minutes of the opening chance they were in the lead.
Glen Johnson stormed down the right flank and sent in a low cross. It rolled across the six yard line to be met by...Wayne Rooney, who slotted it into the net.
His goal drought has ended, and he has shown that his off-the-field antics have not affected his game.
There was an early substitution, which will not be good news to Arsenal fans. Theo Walcott's game came to and end after just 13 minutes, to be replaced by Adam Johnson.
Throughout the first half England were easily the better team. Countless numbers of through balls and crosses from both wings caused a bit of trouble for the Swiss defence.
Switzerland were not playing their normal gritty football, and England should have be more than 1-0 up.
Towards the end of the first half, Switzerland had a few good moves of their own. A few free kicks went over the bar, and even more passes rolled off the pitch.
At half time it was said that Walcott, who was injured just before Rooney's goal, had been taken to hospital to have an x-ray on his right ankle.
The first half was almost a repeat of England's last game against Bulgaria. Only one ahead at half time, but should be much more.

England carried on their attack after the break, and where pushing towards the Swiss penalty box within seconds.
In the first few minutes of the second half, the only thing you could hear was the English band in the stands and the loyal fans that travelled to Basel.
The Swiss had more chances, and went close on a number of occasions.
As the rain fell Switzerland had there best chance. Derdiyok's free-kick was headed straight up in the air, but was only gathered by Hart at the second attempt.
Switzerland looked more of a threat as the match went into the last half hour.
However, a clumsy challenge by Lichtsteiner meant that he was give a second yellow card and sent down the tunnel. The strange thing is that his first yellow card was for punching the corner flag.
Down to 10 men, Switzerland were on the back foot. Then almost instantly, Gerrard played through a great ball to Adam Johnson. He turned his marker and scored to put England 2 ahead.
After their goal, England seemed to relax.
Two minutes after England's second, the Swiss were on the attack. Shaqiri took a shot from 25 yards which fizzed through the air. Hart couldn't get anywhere near the ball as it hit the back of the net.
The team with 10 men where now back in the game. After their goal, they had more confidence and had even more close chances.
Chances were going begging for England. They should have won the game after 30 minutes, yet here they were scarred of conceding another and ruining chances they they should easy score.
Then a chance by Bent proved one too many. Bent scores his first international goal, as he powers Wright-Phillips cross into the net.
As the fourth official raised his sign showing three minutes of injury time, the crowd was emptying out of the stadium, and the game was down to a walking place.
Apart from a 10 minute spell shortly after the start of the second half, England controlled this game, just as they did against Bulgaria at Wembley last week.
But like last week they should have been at least 4-nil up at half time.
They also should have capitalised more when Switzerland went down to 10 men, rather than conceding a goal.
I shouldn't be having a go at England. They have won their first two games of the group, scored seven goals and only conceded one.
